Actions — what you'll do about it

One line naming what the video changed, with an optional date, and real checkboxes in your exports.

The one thing here you can measure from outside the extension. A quiz says you followed a video; an action says the video changed what you did — one line, an optional date, and a real checkbox in every export.

Writing one

Turn Actions on in Study → Settings, open the Study chip on any video, and type one line into the box. That is it: free, instant, offline, no key, no limit, and no cap on how many you write.

• Start with a verb. “Rewrite my resolver to batch the lookups” is an action. “Understand batching” is a feeling.

• Add a date if it helps — Today, Tomorrow or Next week. Something due today says Today all day, and only turns to Overdue the next morning.

• Tick it off when it is done. Open ones sort to the top, soonest due first.

Asking the video for ideas

Suggest reads the video and offers a handful of concrete things it justifies, each anchored to the moment that prompted it and each quoting a real line of the captions. Keep the ones you want — they become your own actions from that point, editable and deletable — and ignore the rest.

The whole course

☰ → Study in the panel header has an Actions tab: everything still owed across the course, what is overdue, and what you have finished — worked out from the videos themselves, so ticking one off anywhere updates it everywhere.

They leave with you

Markdown exports them as a real task list — live checkboxes in Obsidian, GitHub or anything else that reads Markdown — and the PDF and DOC print a checkbox you can tick with a pen. That is the point: an action is only worth writing if it survives leaving the tool that suggested it.
