Popup & full tab
The toolbar popup, when to use it, and how to open the whole thing in a tab.
The toolbar popup was the original CoursifyYT interface, and it's still the roomiest one — the full bento course map, your history, and key setup.
Opening it
Click the CoursifyYT icon in Chrome's toolbar. If you haven't pinned it, it's behind the puzzle-piece extensions button.
What it's for
| Task | Popup | In-page panel |
|---|---|---|
| Build a course from a pasted link | Yes — paste any channel URL or @handle | No — you build from the channel page itself |
| Browse the full bento course map | Yes, at full width | Yes, in a narrow column |
| Set up API keys | Yes | Opens the popup for you |
| Browse & delete past courses | Yes — the History panel | No |
| “You are here” on the current video | No | Yes |
| Autoplay in course order | No | Yes |
Channel prefill
If a YouTube channel tab is open when you open the popup, its URL is prefilled into the input. It is only ever a prefill — nothing starts until you click, so no free run is ever spent for you.
Open in Tab
A Chrome popup is small and closes the moment you click elsewhere. The Open in Tab button in the header re-opens the same interface as a full browser tab (index.html?tab=1) — better for reading a long course map or exporting.
You can close it mid-run
Header buttons
- History — every channel you've coursified, with its progress. History →
- Setup API Keys — provider and key. API keys →
- Open in Tab — as above. Only shown when you're actually in the popup.
- Theme — light / dark. Shared with the in-page panel.
