Refresh & new uploads

When a channel posts more videos, CoursifyYT flags it and folds them into your course.

Channels keep uploading. CoursifyYT notices, tells you, and folds the new videos into your existing course instead of making you start over.

When you open a course whose channel has published since it was built, an amber banner appears at the top: “New videos since this roadmap was built · Refresh”, with the count. Clicking Refresh tops the course up.

What Refresh actually does

    Lists the channel again and diffs it against what your course already contains.

    Runs the AI on only the new videos — not the whole channel. It's shown the names of your existing modules so it reuses them rather than inventing near- duplicates.

    Grafts the results in: new videos join a matching existing topic, and genuinely new subjects become new branches of the tree. Your progress and everything already in the course are untouched.

One known trade-off

Appended videos land at the end of their topic rather than being re-sorted into beginner→advanced position. It's the price of not re-processing the whole channel. If the ordering matters to you, build the channel fresh instead.

What it costs

  • On the free tier, a Refresh counts as one of your 2 daily runs — it's a real AI call, just a much smaller one.
  • With your own key it's unlimited, and cheap: only the new videos are processed.
  • The refreshed course is shared, so everyone who opens that channel afterwards gets the updated version.

The banner needs a fresh open

The check runs when a course is opened from the shared cache. A course reopened from your local History may not flag as stale. Opening the channel on YouTube with the panel is the reliable way to get the check.
